ENTRY #6 It's Just a RED CUP

SERIOUSLY YOU LOVE ONE BUT NOT THE OTHER
Whether the cup be white, red or have leaves on it someone will have something to say. With is whole controversy of Starbucks red cups recently. It makes me think how petty can people be. I'm sure when Starbucks decided to make this years holiday cup just plaid red they did not think people would become so upset.

Customers really believe Starbucks is trying to boycott Christmas but in reality the company should not sway in any religion or holiday because they do not want to offend there customers. If people were true Starbucks customers they would know that was cup was made to be just plaid red for customers to design their own holiday/festive cup. The cup was never made to offended anyone or single a certain religion out. So in my opinion if the plaid cup is such a problem for people take your business else where or bring your own cup when you go to Starbucks. It is that easy. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!

****FYI DO NOT WATCH VIDEO IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED****

ENTRY #5 Shorter Classes

So after reading this article about ASU offering more shorter classes starting in January, I definitely see the positives and negative aspects to having shorter classes.

Positives:
  • Flexibility for those who work or are older
  • Lower tuition for a shorter class which is financially better for some
  • Also bring in more students to the university

Negatives:
  • Fast paced classes are not suited for everyone
  • Full 16 weeks worth of material crammed into 7 1/2 weeks
These shorter classes will not suit everyone but it is definitely a great option to have for those who are motivated to graduate faster and are able to use time management skills being that the work load is going to be heavier.

ENTRY #4 Technology Taking Over

Today's generation is so glue to cellphones, TVs and computers; it is so sad to see. I swear as a child I was always outside playing. Rarely did I sit on the couch and watch TV. If anything the only time I watched TV was in the mornings when I was getting ready for school I would watch my cartoons but other than that I was constantly outside riding my bike, jumping on my trampoline or something active.

I have seen children as young as six years old having a cell phones, while I did not have one until I was 11 or 12 years old and the only reason I got one was because I was going to be walking home and it was for an emergency. Oh and believe me when I say my first phone was nothing cool or fancy, I swear it looked like a grey little brick with no camera....selfies were not a thing.

This generation will never really appreciate having outside time because of technology. I saw a picture on Facebook with the caption "Kids go play outside" and the group of kids went outside and sat on the porch with their phones in their hands. When I choose to have children, they will go play outside, technology will not rule my household. I think parents need to put their foot down when it comes to this matter because excesses technology use cause laziness which can then lead to obesity children. Matter of fact I am going to start cutting out time for myself without having my phone around.

ENTRY #3 Only Showing the Bad

Have you ever watched the news and thought to yourself "Wow did they really just say that or where is the good that is going on?" With today's media whether it be an article, video or talk radio, most are only out to report the bad. When you think about it 90% of news is negatively reported with the other 10% of something positive. Watch the video to the left and you will realize for yourself how bad it really is.

If the news caster and journalist did not report it this way they would not have their jobs.

I believe this is a big problem because as citizen we deserve the right to know the truth about what is going on. There should not be any sugar coating of  things. If people do not want to hear it they have every right to turn it off or to watch it. But I feel it should be a law the news channels have to report the truth and not one side of the story and not the other.

ENTRY #2: Halloweenie Festivities

Haunted Houses, Scary masks, Horror movies, and Costumes. Since the Halloween just past and it happens to be one of my favorite holidays. I figured why not. I love the month of October, getting to watch scary movies, going to haunted houses with all your friends and dressing up for Halloween parties.

Every year my family throws a big Halloween party and I feel like every year it gets bigger and bigger. This year party was huge we decorated the whole house from the mail box to the bathroom to the backyard. Body outlines on the ground every where and spider webs all over the house. Along with all the decorations, we had so much food and jello shots.

Costumes are required for the party, and everyone always goes all out. The party this year started at 8 p.m. and continued until 4:30 a.m.. Unfortunately, I could not hang the whole night and passed out at 3 a.m. and had to be up at 7:30 a.m. to help clean up the house. All in all the party was a huge success, everyone left happy and ready for next years Halloween party.
